About Us...

We are Chinese Checkers Chinese Cresteds, nestled in Simpsonville, SC, located just south of Greenville, SC, where we enjoy the nice southern weather.  Here is where we raise our Powder Puff Chinese Cresteds with all the love, care, attention, and nurturing this wonderful breed deserves!

We are NOT a "puppy mill". We have safely shipped our "little treasures" to happy, satisfied new owners from New York, NY, to San Fransisco, CA! We strongly adhere to the ethical standards for breeders as outlined by the A.K.C., the C.K.C., the Chinese Crested Club of America, and other professional organizations affiliated with the breeding of purebred dogs. We breed only as demand dictates (we "breed when there is a need") and give our females frequent "breaks" from breeding.  All of our dogs live in our home, are raised and kept underfoot, loved on, and, therefore, leave our home for your home well socialized.

We have all puppies vet checked, all puppies are up to date on their vaccinations, and the "crate training" process has been started for you (and we hope that you will continue with that training). A "health guarantee" and A.K.C. registration (limited, with breeding privileges available for an additional charge) are provided with all puppies. We are in the process of having D.N.A. testing done on. Results will be available upon request.

Adults and puppies (except three) sleep in crates or play pens and learn very quickly where their beds are. All adults and puppies play together (with supervision) as a group.We dedicate our time and love to our dogs because we are blessed with such a wonderful breed.

We like to stay in contact with each puppy's new owner and enjoy frequent pictures, videos, and updates from each one of you.

Getting to Know Us…

We are Bill and Lori Elrod. We live in Simpsonville, SC, just south of Greenville, SC, and we are CRAZY about our dogs!!!!!!!!!! We got our first Chinese Crested in 2006, and we’ve been hooked ever since! I, Lori, am a hairstylist, and have been for about 20 years, Bill is a psychologist (currently retired due to a stroke…but getting better every day!). We have four children which are all grown up and living their own lives (and doing very well, I must say!!). Some people would say that this is “empty nest syndrome” But you can ask the kids…this was going on long before they left!!!! We are just avid animal lovers!

My DREAM has always been to breed, nurture, and find great homes for my puppies!!! When I discovered the “Cresteds”, I knew I had to do this!!! Kody, my first, is a therapy dog and goes to nursing homes to visit and also goes to work with me. I realized how gentle and sweet he was from the beginning!!! He has given so much joy to so many, which in turn gives us joy!!!

We just love to share what we have discovered with these wonderful animals…So goes the breeding of Puppies!!! Anyone that’s ever been a breeder or has ever had an “accidental” litter knows you don’t do this to make money!!! It is truly the love of a breed and the wish to share them with others!!! We strive to bring babies to people that are “breed standard”….healthy….happy…. Most importantly, we have chosen the “Heart of Dixie” line because of the great temperament and have spent numerous hours in an effort to further refine that temperament. Believe us, you can look but you won’t find any Chinese Crested Powder Puff puppies with better temperaments! All of our puppies (and dogs) are treated with such love, care, and special attention that the outcome is a “perfect pet” that you’ll be thoroughly happy to own!!!
